Community Garden & Healthy Eating Initiative at School #45 - The Community Garden at School #45 addresses food insecurity and promotes healthy living in the 14621 neighborhoods. This initiative provides access to fresh produce while educating families on nutrition and sustainable gardening. Parents, youth, and community members participate in monthly focus groups, nutrition workshops, and hands-on training in the greenhouse. These activities empower families to grow their own food, develop lifelong healthy eating habits, and build stronger community connections.$0$16,650
Annual Youth & Family Wellness Conference - Our annual two-day conference is a cornerstone event that supports the holistic health of Monroe County residents, particularly families impacted by poverty. The conference offers Keynote speakers as well as a youth keynote speaker, breakout sessions focused on mental health, physical health, and healthy eating, as well as interactive activities such as yoga, gardening demonstrations, and movement classes. In addition, over 30 vendors provide direct access to critical community resources, including healthcare services, employment assistance, and financial literacy. The event also distributes essential items, such as bookbags, wellness kits, and bus passes, ensuring participants leave with both knowledge and tangible support.
