“1-wildfire coverage: in 2024, claremont, located 35 miles east of los angeles at the base of the san gabriel mountains, faced significant threats from nearby brush fires. While the fires did not reach the city itself, their proximity caused widespread concern among residents and the broader public. Over 80,000 acres burned from los angeles to san bernardino, with the bridge fire and line fire visible from claremonts city limits. Adding to the danger, windstorms heightened the fire risk. During this critical time, the claremont courier stood as the only local news outlet providing daily updates, informing over 100,000 people through comprehensive stories, photos, and videos. 2-reviving claremonts fourth of july celebration: claremonts fourth of july celebration was on the brink of decline in 2024. Budget cuts led to the cancellation of the traditional 5k and family fun runs, a reduction in the holiday fair, and the reduction of fireworks. Additionally, the parade time was shifted, and attendance at the beloved kiwanis pancake breakfast plummeted. However, courier publisher peter weinbergers columns galvanized community awareness, highlighting these changes and urging action. His efforts led the city of claremont to restore resources, revert the parade time, and enlist the rotary club to revive the races ultimately boosting attendance to near pre-pandemic levels and rejuvenating the holiday spirit. 3-objective coverage of local reactions to the gaza war: the gaza war cast a shadow of grief worldwide, and claremont was no exception. The local community mourned the loss of life on both sides, fueling tensions and sparking local college protests. Emotions ran high as anger and frustration spread throughout the area. Amid this turmoil, the courier provided calm, fact-based reporting and photography that offered an objective voice in a landscape rife with accusations. Our letters to the editor section became a vital platform, giving community members from all perspectives a space to express their views respectfully and thoughtfully. 4-october community celebration: in october, the courier hosted a community event that brought together over 250 residents, local politicians, and courier supporters to celebrate both claremont and the work of the claremont courier. Attendees were treated to complimentary city photography books, and the courier received honors from city, regional, and state offcials. The event fostered unity among diverse community groups, all gathered under a shared theme of civic pride and collaborationa true celebration of claremonts spirit.”

THE EVENT FOSTERED UNITY AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITY GROUPS, ALL GATHERED UNDER A SHARED THEME OF CIVIC PRIDE AND COLLABORATIONA TRUE CELEBRATION OF CLAREMONTS SPIRIT. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | THE CLAREMONT COURIER SERVES THE PUBLIC AS AN OBJECTIVE COMMUNITY NEWS SOURCE SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1908. AS A LEADING IMPARTIAL NEWS SOURCE, WE AIM TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC TO HELP BETTER THE LIVES OF OUR RESIDENTS AND OUR CITY AT LARGE. THE COURIER CREATES A SAFE ENVIRONMENT SERVING AS AN OPEN FORUM FOR IDEAS, WHILE PROVIDING A PUBLIC SPACE FOR CITIZENS TO INTERACT. OUR ROLE AS WATCHDOG ENSURES GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR THE PEOPLE AND NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS. WE WORK DILIGENTLY TO FORGE RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLAREMONT BUSINESSES AND INSTITUTIONS THAT SUPPORT THE ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL ENGINES IN OUR THRIVING CITY. FINALLY, OUR READER-DRIVEN PHILOSOPHY FOCUSES ON PUBLISHING INFORMATION IN ANY FORMAT, PRINT AND DIGITAL, IN AN EFFORT TO REACH ALL CITIZENS REGARDLESS OF RACE, GENDER, EDUCATION AND INCOME. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | 1-WILDFIRE COVERAGE: IN 2024, CLAREMONT, LOCATED 35 MILES EAST OF LOS ANGELES AT THE BASE OF THE SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS, FACED SIGNIFICANT THREATS FROM NEARBY BRUSH FIRES. THE EVENT FOSTERED UNITY AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITY GROUPS, ALL GATHERED UNDER A SHARED THEME OF CIVIC PRIDE AND COLLABORATIONA TRUE CELEBRATION OF CLAREMONTS SPIRIT. |
