Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
January 2024 marked the real kick-off of The BOLO Project as a non-profit organization. The purpose of this program is to develop confident, resilient, purpose-driven teens through an innovative approach that utilizes the power of the dog-human bond to facilitate learning. Given the alarming statistics showing a 150% increase in reported stress, anxiety, and depression among teens plus a surge in teen suicides, social isolation, and tech addiction, The BOLO Project aims to give teens access to life-changing skills not taught in traditional school settings. Through the ALPHA framework, students learn success principles and growth mindset strategies, financial literacy, leadership, and mechanisms to manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, while connecting them through a philantrhopic project to benefit another non-profit organization in their communities.I am pleased to report we had an extraordinary impact on our first group of students during the launch pilot. In the summer of 2024, we served a group of 12 students. In the fall of 2024, we served a small group of 5 students. In both instances, we received reports of significant growth and changes. Each week, the students discussed massive takeaways and shared how they were implementing the content into their daily lives with results. Students were gaining confidence by watching things happen as they set and accomplished a sepcific goal during the course. Students quickly reported a shift in how they were looking at the world and their situations and began to feel less anxious as a result. The students also reported a tremendous gain in their knowledge in financial literacy and even began an intentional saving practice. All the students felt tremendous pride in their project accomplishments, raising $2,700 and $2,200 for their selectd non-profit organizations.Parents reported noticeable improvement in their children's behavior, engagement in conversations and family activities, and their overall moods and outlooks. We received rave reviews from the parents.Lastly, we now have students volunteering for the upcoming summer program to benefit new students going through the program.-$17,777
