“Fearless Brown Girls is more than a nonprofit. Its a movement transforming the lives of high school girls from communities that have historically lacked access to financial education, mentorship, and personal development opportunities. We exist to close opportunity gaps and help young women lead lives rooted in confidence, mental wellness, and financial resilience. Across Charlotte and beyond, disparities in income, savings, and homeownership reflect systemic barriers that continue to disproportionately affect the communities we serve. In these environments, access to culturally relevant financial education, affirming mentorship, and spaces that prioritize mental wellness is not a luxury its a necessity. Fearless Brown Girls was created to meet that need, helping girls tap into their potential, navigate real-world systems, and lead lives of impact and intention.”
“Building a Fearless Foundation (BAFF) is an annual one-day empowerment summit that activates high school girls confidence, authenticity, mental wellness, and financial literacy through interactive keynotes, workshops, and activities. The summit fosters sisterhood, personal growth, and exposure to leadership, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. It sets the tone for a transformative year of programming. Financially Confident Teens Initiative (FinCon Teens) is a culturally sensitive financial literacy program that teaches essential pathways to building wealth, including saving, budgeting, credit, investing, and entrepreneurship. Through real-world application, engaging instruction, and mentorship, participants grow in financial confidence and develop the tools to lead economically empowered lives. We also provide enrichment through the Be Fearless Scholarship and community service initiatives. The scholarship helps ease the financial burden of post-secondary education for seniors who embody our core values. Our Fearless Giving: Period Kit Packing Party addressed period poverty through a partnership with a local organization, bringing together 45 volunteers to assemble and distribute 1,000 care kits to girls at three Title I schools. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to personal development, community care, and eliminating barriers that impact girls' well-being and economic mobility. To date, our programs have served 207 girls. After participating in BAFF, 100% of girls felt more confident about the connection between mental health and financial literacy and said they would recommend Fearless Brown Girls to their peers. In FinCon Teens, participants demonstrated measurable growth confidence in planning and making decisions for large expenses (e.g., college, major purchases) rose from 73% to 87%, and 100% of alumni successfully created and managed personal budgets throughout a full semester. The results speak volumes. Our girls reported growth in financial confidence, emotional resilience, and peer connection. Families, volunteers, and community leaders consistently describe our work as life-changing. Not just for individual participants, but for entire communities. This impact is made possible by a growing ecosystem of partners and supporters who believe in our vision. Since 2020, weve raised over $108,000 to fund our mission. In 2024 alone, we saw a 135% increase in revenue, driven by deepened community trust, expanded corporate engagement, and authentic relationships with those we serve. As we prepare to celebrate our fifth anniversary in 2025, we are scaling our work with intention while staying grounded in our definition of fearless: Bold in Action. True to Self. A Force for Change. We are expanding FinCon Teens to include an entrepreneurship-focused track, deepening the integration of mental wellness across all programming, and investing in board development, infrastructure, and youth-centered innovation to sustain and scale our impact. We invite funders, partners, and changemakers to join us. Visit fearlessbrowngirls.org to see how were shaping a generation of bold, brilliant, and financially empowered leaders. The fearless journey is just beginning.”
