In January 2025, two Southern California University of Health Sciences programs, Ayurvedic Wellness Educator and Ayurvedic Practitioner, achieved accredited status. These programs have the distinction of being the inaugural AAC- accredited programs. By the end of the tax year, we had 14 schools with a total of 27 programs in Candidacy for Accreditation. We anticipate an additional 1-2 programs to enter candidacy in the coming year.We continued to strengthen our relationships with Ayurvedic education schools and institutes with candidate or accredited programs. To this end, we formed the Council of Schools in January 2025. Program representatives are invited to meet quarterly with members of our leadership team to discuss the accreditation policies and processes, reflect on current curriculum requirements, and share feedback. We became an organizational member of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine in February 2025. This affiliation supports our mission by fostering strategic connections, expanding learning opportunities, and contributing to the advancement of integrative health care education. We broadened our presence across the Ayurvedic and integrative health communities by actively participating in several major conferences, including the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine Conference and the Annual Conference of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Finally, we were a nonprofit sponsor of the International Association of Yoga Therapists Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research Conference in Atlanta held in late June of 2025.We are pursuing national recognition as an accrediting body, which is a significant step toward expanding our influence and formalizing our role in setting and upholding standards within the field of Ayurvedic medicine. Over the coming year, we will research federal requirements, consult with experts, and engage stakeholders to build a strong foundation for the application process. By seeking national recognition, we aim to enhance our credibility, increase access to resources, and strengthen our ability to support quality and accountability across the sector.--

Additional Explanations

Pt III, Line 31

In January 2025, two Southern California University of Health Sciences programs, Ayurvedic Wellness Educator and Ayurvedic Practitioner, achieved accredited status. These programs have the distinction of being the inaugural AAC- accredited programs. By the end of the tax year, we had 14 schools with a total of 27 programs in Candidacy for Accreditation. We anticipate an additional 1-2 programs to enter candidacy in the coming year.

Pt III, Line 31

We continued to strengthen our relationships with Ayurvedic education schools and institutes with candidate or accredited programs. To this end, we formed the Council of Schools in January 2025. Program representatives are invited to meet quarterly with members of our leadership team to discuss the accreditation policies and processes, reflect on current curriculum requirements, and share feedback.

Pt III, Line 31

We became an organizational member of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine in February 2025. This affiliation supports our mission by fostering strategic connections, expanding learning opportunities, and contributing to the advancement of integrative health care education.

Pt III, Line 31

We broadened our presence across the Ayurvedic and integrative health communities by actively participating in several major conferences, including the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine Conference and the Annual Conference of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Finally, we were a nonprofit sponsor of the International Association of Yoga Therapists Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research Conference in Atlanta held in late June of 2025.

Pt III, Line 31

We are pursuing national recognition as an accrediting body, which is a significant step toward expanding our influence and formalizing our role in setting and upholding standards within the field of Ayurvedic medicine. Over the coming year, we will research federal requirements, consult with experts, and engage stakeholders to build a strong foundation for the application process. By seeking national recognition, we aim to enhance our credibility, increase access to resources, and strengthen our ability to support quality and accountability across the sector.

IRS990ScheduleA/Form990ScheduleAPartVIGrp/ExplanationTxt0Taxpayer qualifies as publicly supported as described in section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Code based on the following facts and circumstances. PUBLIC SUPPORT PERCENTAGE: Although taxpayers cumulative public support for the 2024-25 tax year was below the required 33-1/3%, it rose from about 20% in the previous year to almost 27% in the current tax year. But it remained below 33.33% due to 3 years of large donations from the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, whose support ceased in the tax year ending June 30, 2024. REPRESENTATIVE NUMBER OF DONORS: The organization had more than 200 distinct donors for the tax year ending June 30, 2025. The single donor that depressed the organizations public support percentage through outsize contributions for three tax years ceased their support in the year prior to this tax year. EXPERT GOVERNING BODY: The organization normally has at least 5 unrelated board members, all of whom are experts in the field of Ayurvedic Medicine. PUBLIC SERVICES: Over 250,000 people per year in the US benefit from Ayurvedic medicine. The organization serves the public by insuring uniformly high standards for the training of Ayurvedic practitioners. ONGOING SOLICITATION: The organization has a broad, ongoing program to solicit funds from the general public, including a monthly email campaign and online fundraisers featuring guest speakers appealing to a wide audience interested in Ayurvedic medicine. Its advisory council meets quarterly to discuss outreach to the public to solicit contributions. And it engages with professional organizations throughout the year to educate the public about its work and request their support.
