Prairie Rose Development successfully launched a statewide Kiva Hub for Colorado in late 2021. Kiva is a crowd-funded 0% interest rate small business loan program (loans in the range of $1,000 to $15,000) for otherwise financially excluded entrepreneurs looking to create socially impactful small businesses that have the potential to create jobs in their local communities. Two part-time bilingual Capital Access Managers hired by Prairie Rose have provided technical assistance and funding help to more than 500 existing and potential small business owners access the Kiva program since Prairie Rose was founded. Twenty loans totaling $202,000 were funded in 2025 by 3,774 individual lenders. Eighty-five percent of all loans were made to woman-owned businesses, 25% to Latino-owned businesses, 20% to Black-owned businesses, 35% to rural-based small businesses, 30% or recipient borrowers were immigrants, and 45% of all Colorado Kiva borrowers indicated that funds would be used to help hire new employees.$41,794$56,696
