Part III Line 28 Statement of Program Service Accomplishments The first quarter of this year marked the most significant developments in MWI's almost 3-year history. At our project in Honduras called, "Atrevete", MWI and partner, Vida Abundante, launched programing for public high school students in the City of Choluteca. The launch included major events with stages, national music artists and messages around resilience, faith and vision leading to success. This brings our Honduras project pilot up to over 9,000 students in three cities and is the results of more than a year of planning and investment. Atrevete is aimed at reducing high school dropout rates resulting from immigration, teen pregnancy, suicide and gang involvement. The pilot programming includes a teen crisis hotline, in-class vision-based programming for 9 schools and school supplies and food for the neediest students. Atrevete now has an office in Choluteca and three shared staff members. In January, MWI signed an agreement with Simpact, a data software AI development company from Denver Colorado, to develop predicative models for Central American youth in the areas of, school desertion (dropping out) and youth immigration. In March, Mark and Simpact CEO, Trenton Ashburn along with Atrevete staff and Vida Abundante teams, surveyed nearly 9,000 students and will track them throughout the school year in collecting data used to develop the models. By March of 2024, MWI will have models capable of accurately predicting the students most likely to drop out and/or attempt to immigrate to the US. This will allow our team to work with schools, NGO's and churches to develop interventions for the most vulnerable students. In Costa Rica, the pilot project developed with local partner, Lifting Hands, in the unofficial community of Bajo De Anonos was completed in December 2022 with remarkable success for all 103 participating adolescents. That programming method we call "EDV" which functions to develop Emotional health and intelligence, Self-Discover and Vision, through an after-school program in one of the most impoverished and dangerous communities in Costa Rica has been adopted by Lifting Hands who has expanded programming to another community, "Diques" Cartago. Our goals are to continue to help fund expansion the several other communities as well as package the programming for hundreds of churches and NGO's to replicate throughout Central America. MWI is actively looking for sponsors to achieve these goals.
