We serve on the frontlines of criminal-legal reform, gun violence prevention, and positive youth development by providing resources and services for individuals and the community at large. As a credible messenger-based organization, we provide programming that target financial literacy, civic engagement, workforce readiness, and leadership development. We also provide access to employment opportunities, a network of community resources, and educational services.”

This initiative integrates service providers specializing in the necessary areas to work in tandem to support the individual's needs and interest. It is based on the credible messenger model: previously justice-impacted individuals who have transformed their lives in a sustainable way and serve as mentors to youth who are entangled in the criminal-legal system. The theory behind the credible messenger model is that those with transformative incarcerated experiences should be on the frontlines of offsetting the impact incarceration perpetuates in the lives of young people. 914united spearheads this initiative via its partnerships with the yonkers school district, westchester county department of corrections, the children's village - woodfield detention center, & office of family and children services.”
