“Program Service Accomplishments continued:”

“Market, and Haywood St.'s Downtown Welcome Table. We also delivered meals to frontline medical workers and staff at Mission Hospital, and to children and families in Asheville City Schools' PODS Program.”

“This program pumped more than $300,000 back into the local economy over its duration. Through donations, we were able to pay our transportation partner Takeout Central, and our restaurants, which included Crate, Biscuit Head, Twisted Laurel, Sunny Point Caf, Gypsy Queen Cuisine, and PachaMama5.”

“In the spring, we convened with a new board that included only two original members. With restrictions easing, restaurants opening back up to near-full capacity, and meal programs resuming at in-need organizations around the county, we prepared to rethink the role of Asheville Strong and to concentrate on summer and early fall fundraising.”

“In the spring and summer and fall, we partnered with Hillman Beer for several Powers in Pints fundraising events. In October, we appeared on Good Morning America, along with several of our volunteers and restaurant partners, to talk about our support of the community.”

“In November, the board worked with communications consultant and creative strategist Kathryn Stewart to revise and update our mission, vision, and values to better serve the changing needs of our community.”

“In December, we partnered with Lilly Pulitzer Palm Village (located in Asheville's historic Biltmore Village), which hosted a "Shop and Share DayX and gave a portion of proceeds to support Asheville Strong.”
