| A. Joy Room project completions. Joy Collaborative completed four new projects; (1) The "Imagine Theater project" in support of Make A Wish MN was completed for a 12 year old girl. The beneficiary was the youngest heart transplant patient at M Health Fairview. The request for a performance space was an obvious design space for her and supports her creativity and introverted tendencies. The testimonial from her parents is "we are seeing resilience we never imagined. Our daughter's ownership, creativity and zest for life has expanded beyond what we thought she was capable of. Little did we know this project could bring so many benefits that will support her social/emotional/behavioral health as she matures into a whole new person!" The project in kind value is estimated at $52,593.00. (2) Jayden's Arena is a renovation project to create a safe space for a youth boy with Autism and Global Development Delay. Jayden struggles with emotional regulation and physical outbursts. His project provides an array of design elements to address sensory and soothing, to physical aggression and abundant storage space so visual chaos is minimized. The testimonial from his parent includes observations around him being calmer, less negative physical behavior towards her and to himself, and improved self-regulation. "I am excited to see parts of him thrive that we've not seen before. Jayden often was frustrated with no place to go that really supported his complex needs. This Arena perfectly suits him and we're all benefiting from a calmer and more confident Jayden." The project in kind value is estimated at over $35,000. (3) The Bridge for Youth, Phase 1. Phase 1 involved a significant renovation of Resilience House, an emergency shelter for youth ages 10+ and who predominantly identify as LGBTQ+. The existing space was dreary with neglected finishes and damaged furniture in a facility where building trust with traumatized youth is essential. Spaces were brought up to current building code, shared bathrooms were renovated so single use, lighting and furniture was upgraded throughout. (4) The Joy Mobile is a service that impacts individuals and communities by providing a solution to a pressing and growing need for respite and recovery spaces at public events. The project for this year involved providing service to the Minnesota State Fair, the 2nd largest state fair in the US. By training 150 volunteers, Joy Collaborative was able to serve over 2,000 individuals who came with conditions such as autism, ADHD/ADD, panic attacks and PTSD. The results were that 90-95% of Joy Mobile guests went from high/medium stress to low/no stress in 5-10 minutes of use. B. Volunteer services. Joy Collaborative benefited from those who provided volunteer hours. An estimated 969 hours donated in 2024; IRS estimate hourly value of $34.79. The hours are valued at a total of $33,711.51 for which these projects would not have been completed without their significant donations of time and talent. C. Recognition. By training 150 volunteers, Joy Collaborative was able to serve over 2,000 individuals who came with conditions such as autism, ADHD/ADD, panic attacks and PTSD. The results were that 90-95% of Joy Mobile guests went from high/medium stress to low/no stress in 5-10 minutes of use. B. Volunteer services. Joy Collaborative benefited from those who provided volunteer hours. An estimated 969 hours donated in 2024; IRS estimate hourly value of $34.79. The hours are valued at a total of $33,711.51 for which these projects would not have been completed without their significant donations of time and talent. C. Recognition. For our 2023 "Isaac's Playhouse project" our designers received the 2024 American Society of Interior Designers' (ASID) National Award: Community Impact of the Year. |
