“Business development - aiccnm hosted 12 luncheons, mixers, and dinners featuring two speakers sharing business and economic opportunities with attendees. Aiccnm supports ribbon cutting events with agenda development, deployment, and media attention. Aiccnm general activities in this area include attendance at events hosted by chamber members, partner organizations, and prospective members. Aiccnm contributes to fundraising events monetarily, via member attendance, and through event promotion. Capacity building - aiccnnm developed and facilitated four (4) training sessions for native microbusiness owners as well as leadership in tribal government organizations; topics included marketing, sales, and leadership effectiveness. Aiccnm supported strategic plan development for a tribally owned corporation. Aiccnm general activities in this area include support to broadband development, access to capital, and capacity development for emerging entrepreneurs, veterans, students in stem, tribal economic development, and community members. Workforce development - aiccnm developed and facilitated thirteen (13) sessions to native high school students enrolled in albuquerque public schools, the native american community academy (naca), and several native communities; in addition to worker readiness, topics covered college and career prep. Aiccnm supported the jemez job/career fair. Aiccnm was invited to two workforce development conferences to present on its worker preparedness training and wraparound support model. Aiccnm executive director continues serving on the workforce development board of central new mexico, providing input and insights supporting a native workforce. Research and policy - aiccnm demonstrated limited activity in this area with only three (3) events. In addition to providing input to proposed state legislation regarding employee paid time off, aiccnm was invited by the new mexico legislative subcommittee on economic and rural development and policy committee to present on our workforce development work. Aiccnm provided attendee recommendations for a rally in washington d.c. On native agricultural development in the farm bill. Education - aiccnm continues to support college student-led organizations in their learning experiences related to native business and economic development. These activities include classroom speaking, providing feedback on student projects, and providing guidance and mentoring. Aiccnm supported the unm native alumni event through monetary sponsorship and invited chamber members to attend. Aiccnm general support included advocacy for most effective educational experiences for native youth. We continue to build relationships with tribal education departments.”
