“Nmnpc seeks to unite new mexico's nurse practitioners in an organization dedicated to promoting excellence in practice and optimal patient care. We strive to be informed and effective in our efforts to protect and promote nurse practitioners' professional interests and to provide strong patient advocacy.”

“Board members serve on a volunteer basis, in addition they take on specific tasks as needed (e.g., newsletter, student scholarship reviews, update of formulary, bylaw revisions, educational meeting planning and execution, and attending national meetings to enhance leadership knowledge and skills). Other volunteers also engage in similar activities.”

“Our primary service is providing accredited continuing education for nurse practitioners in new mexico. During fy 2021, we had a three-day conference that provided many approved contract hours. Part of that conference included contract hours of non-cancer pain management continuing education required for all nps who hold dea registration and a nm controlled substance license. We recorded that portion of the conference for separate ce approval as an enduring ce activity to make it available for nps who need that required ce but who were unable to attend the conference. In nov 2020 we did a complimentary one day virtual conference that provided 3 hours of continuing education to our members and due to the covid pandemic and the busy schedule of nps we offered this on demand for 3 months so our members had time to view it. In addition, we maintained our newsletter to keep nps in new mexico abreast of important professional, policy, and clinical information.”
