“Form 990, part i, line 1 - organizations mission”

“To promote the mission of the society for human resource management (shrm), to serve the needs of human resources professionals and advance the human resources profession. We aim to connect human resources professionals throughout new mexico, to provide support to affiliate shrm chapters in our state, and to act as a conduit in the communication network between national shrm and local chapters. We are volunteer leaders dedicated to the human resources profession.”

“Form 990, part iii, line 4a - accomplishments”

“January leadership conference:”

“Each january, shrm nm state council holds a leadership conference. The participants include the shrm nm state council board of directors as well as boards from each of the four local shrm chapters, located in las cruces, albuquerque, santa fe and farmington. The purpose of this event is threefold.”

“- leadership training with a guest speaker who provides guidance to all in their leadership roles.”

“- team building and collaboration among those holding the same or similiar positions on the different boards so that they develop a network within their area of responsibility.”

“- develop a stronger connection between the shrm nm state council and the local shrm chapters.”

“Shrm nm annual conference:”

“Human resource conference with topics designed for hr, other business, and legal professionals, including several masters level sessions and a special native american track. The two day conference included different presentations relating to current trends and professional development for hr professionals.”

“REGIONAL MEETING:”

“Each year the state director, director elect, membership director and other board positions meet with other individuals in the same roles in all 50 states. These individuals mee with the national shrm officers to learn more about the national shrm initiative of the year.”

“Volunteer leadership summit:”

“Shrm national hosts an annual volunteer leadership summit to bring together volunteer leaders on the both the state and local levels to provide an opportunity to meet national shrm leaders and hear their goals and objectives for the following year as well as give participants the opportunity to learn and share ideas with their cohorts across the nation on running their organizations, ideas for areas like leadership direction, membership, certification, and networking.”

“QUARTERLY MEETINGS:”

“Quarertly meetings are typically in a central location in the albuquerque area. These meetings are used to guide not only the state, but also the local chapters.”

“MEMBERSHIP EFFORTS:”

“Membership is a very integral part of the local chapters who work in conjunction with the shrm nm state council.”

“WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT:”

“Shrm nm state council continues to be innovative in human resources practices. The work that the state council is doing with the best buddies program (hiring those individuals with disabilities) has attracted the attention of the national shrm. The state council is being highlighted as a leader in the country for partnering with best buddies, local chapters, and employers through the state of nm.”

“The organizations president reviews and approves form 990 prior to submission to the irs.”

“Governing documents and form 990s are provided upon request to the general public.”
