Income taxes are not provided for in the financial statements since pvmc is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and similar state provisions. Pvmc is not classified as a private foundation. Pvmc files their federal form 990 tax return in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction and the online charitable registration in the office of the attorney general for the state of new mexico. Pvmc is generally no longer subject to examination by the internal revenue service and the new mexico taxation and revenue department for fiscal years before 2016. Pvmc is not currently under audit nor has the organization been contacted by any of these jurisdictions. Management believes that they are operating within their tax-exempt purpose.
