| The impact of our efforts was extremely positive, and the community gave us excellent feedback. We were able to connect with more than 1,000 local Hispanics through social media events such as Facebook Live. We were able to gather valuable information regarding COVID-19 awareness because of the trust factor associated with our team. As a result of our efforts, we were able to establish several trustworthy sources that provided continuous interaction with the Hispanic community across social media and discussion forums. Pertinent COVID-19 outreach goals: 1. Reach out to more than 1,500 Hispanics in the target area and have at least 1-2 interactions to share information about Covid relief. 2. Illuminated the misconceptions regarding COVID-19 symptoms and vaccination in Spanish and English via a series of virtual meetings, informal conversations, utilizing multiple networks that have access to the Hispanic community and utilizing resources such as Facebook Live with leading Covid-19 experts. 3. Strengthen the link between trusted institutions and the Hispanic community to establish reliable sources that would keep them up to date on COVID-19 prevention methods, treatment options, vaccination, among other things. Pertinent outreach strategy: 1. Access additional insights through virtual meetings, interviews and Q&As with leaders in the Covid treatment and prevention industry. 2. Link and distribute information to trusted institutions that would keep the Hispanic community up to date about COVID-19 via social media (Facebook, Twitter), virtual meetings and interviews, as well as outreach events such as Facebook Lives. 3. Provide a resource that would answer the most up to date COVID-19 questions in Spanish and English, including vaccine information. 4. Educate the Hispanic community about how to protect themselves from infection by using reputable sources (e.g., CDC) via social media (Facebook Live). 5. Build awareness about local testing sites in both English and Spanish using trusted sources (e.g., CDC, City of Cleveland Minority Health dept., County health depts). 6. Promote vaccination with trustworthy information (without bias), utilizing available language resources in Spanish via a Q&A in a multitude of medias and formats. 7. Connect to the Hispanic community by building trust through word of mouth and referrals by trusted sources. Reactions from the Hispanic community: 1. Very receptive, open to learning about COVID-19 and the importance of awareness through trusted sources/institutions 2. Felt that these outreach events were especially helpful since they informed them about things they may not have previously known about COVID-19 3. Many people considered it very important to educate their family and friends, including those who are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant in the future 4. Confusion about symptoms of Covid-19 infection created fear that may have prevented someone from getting tested or seeking treatment if they contracted the virus. | $50,000 | $50,000 |
