“The corporation intends to be a supporting organization to oyc under section 509a3 of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended the code. It is operated, supervised and controlled by oyc. The corporations operations are exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, to support, and to carry out the purposes of oyc, provided that oyc continues to be an organization described in section 501c3 and section 170b1a of the internal revenue code at the time of any given distribution to or on behalf thereof. Oyc is exempt from federal income tax under section 501c3 of the code as an organization described in section 509a2 of the code. Oyc was formed in 2000 and provides programs that include numerous resources and opportunities for at-risk youth of the community, as well as the parents of those youths, that will aid in their educational and social development. Specifically, for over 13 years, oyc has been providing holistic programming to help youth avoid falling victim to poor education, poverty and crime. Oyc has continued to serve as a safe haven for transformational change and currently serves more than 1,500 youth and their families using a program model that blends 24-hour case management, in-school, after-school and summer services academic enrichment mentoring and counseling, health wellness, fitness and sports, college preparation, jobs for youth, post-high school support and parent support. Oyc has had amazing results, graduating 100 of its high school seniors since inception and continuing to send a majority of its students to college.”
