Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Help make sure foster families have their basic needs met, connect foster families to resources and to each other and advocate for change in the system, creating a better future for our community, our children and the caregivers who raise them.

Mission Foster Village Memphis equips, connects, and advocates for children and families in foster care, adoption, and kinship care. We walk alongside caregivers with practical resources, trauma-informed support, and a compassionate community, helping families navigate some of the most difficult seasons with a strong village around them. Vision Our vision is a Midsouth community where every child and family in the child welfare system is supported, empowered, and surrounded by more than enough-more than enough resources, more than enough families ready to welcome children, and more than enough connection to ensure lasting stability from placement to permanency and beyond.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
This year, we have seen God's faithfulness and guidance in profound ways across Foster Village Memphis. What Went Well: Our caregiver gatherings and TEEN Connect programs have grown, creating spaces where families and teens feel supported, valued, and empowered. Volunteers and church partners, like Christ Methodist Church, have stepped in generously with time, resources, and expertise, helping us meet the immediate needs of children entering foster care. Meal Train initiatives have provided practical, tangible support to families during times of transition, demonstrating care and fostering deeper community connections. Relationships within our village have strengthened, with caregivers investing in others and teens forming meaningful connections that reflect the love and hope of Christ. Challenges Faced: Funding remains critically low, which has limited our capacity to expand programs and sustain operations at full strength. Recruiting and onboarding the right leaders for new caregiver gatherings has been slower than anticipated, highlighting the ongoing need for committed, Spirit-led partners. Significant Achievements & Celebrations: We successfully launched additional TEEN Connect sessions, giving more teenagers opportunities to experience community, mentorship, and joy. Meal Train continues to provide crucial support, ensuring families feel cared for and less overwhelmed during critical times. Families and volunteers have begun paying it forward, mentoring others and growing the village of support organically. Through prayer, partnership, and perseverance, we continue to see children experience stability, belonging, and healing, and caregivers growing in confidence and hope-even on their most challenging days. Overall, we see God at work through relationships, generosity, and transformation. His guidance sustains our mission, allowing us to equip, connect, and advocate for families while building a stronger, faith-filled village for children in foster care, adoption, and kinship care.$35,000$24,587
