Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Guardian revival is a new york state 501(c)(3) not-for-profit chartered to support first responders, the armed forces, and our veteran communities. We raise money to fund training opportunities, equipment, and other resources for law enforcement, military service members, emergency medical services (ems), firefighters, and rescue services. Donations also fund our veteran programs which provide support and resources to both military and first responder veterans.

Guardian revival is a new york state 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of reviving and preserving the mental health and well-being of military and first responders - our guardians - and their families. We provide mental health, wellness, and suicide prevention programs to support those who serve, offering an integrative approach across various experiences. The term guardians include a wide range of individuals, including active military, veterans, reserves, national guard, law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency medical services, dispatchers, corrections, and federal agents. Our programs are built around experiences that strengthen both mental and physical health.

A draft of the organization's form 990 is provided to the officers prior to filing with the internal revenue service (irs). Each officer is asked to review the draft form 990 and provide comments or questions. After all comments and questions have been addressed, the form 990 is filed with the irs.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

Each current director, officer, and key person of the organization, as well as nominees for election as director, must submit to the secretary at least once per year (and update as appropriate) a questionnaire disclosing any potential conflicts of interest. The board will review all conflicts of interest and related party transactions and determine whether to approve or ratify such matters, unless such matter: (i) is of limited monetary value; (ii) would not usually be reviewed by the board in the ordinary course of business and is available to others on the same or similar terms; (iii) provides a charitable benefit to a member of a charitable class where the benefit is available to others on similar terms. The board may only approve the underlying matter if it determines that such matter, under the terms and within the circumstances and conditions presented, is fair, reasonable, and in the best interests of the organization at the time of such determination. If the board has reasonable cause to believe that a director, officer, or key person has failed to comply with the organization's conflict of interest policy, it may make such further investigation as may be warranted in the circumstances and if it determines that the individual(s) in question failed to comply with the policy, it shall take appropriate action which may include, in the case of directors and officers, removal from the board or from office or, in the case of key persons or others, termination of employment with the organization.

Volunteers provide a variety of support, ranging from event support, fundraising events, programming support, and acting as community advocates and champions of our cause. Volunteers also assist in commemorative and ceremonial events for veteran holidays.

Encore, our music-based program, offers guardians a creative and therapeutic space for learning, playing, and creating music. Guardians of all skill levels can participate in community jams, take lessons, and even professionally record their music, finding healing and connection through musical expression. Guardian rise is designed to take our guardians to another level by improving their focus, energy, and well-being. Because when you feel better, you live better. Through wellness workshops, retreats, and resources, we provide the tools for military, veterans, and first responders to recharge, rebuild, and rise. In addition to these programs, guardian revival provides mental health and suicide prevention training to equip guardians and their families with the skills to recognize and respond to mental health challenges. Through education that addresses stigma and empowers community awareness we create a supportive community and environment for individuals at risk. By connecting guardians to these accessible and cost-free programs, we help them build sustainable, empowering routines that enhance their sense of belonging, purpose, and overall well-being.

The provisions of fasb asc 740-100 require all taxpayers to analyze all material positions they have taken or plan to take on all tax returns that have been filed or should have been filed with all taxing authorities for all years still subject to challenge by those taxing authorities. If the position taken is "more-likely-than-not" to be sustained by the taxing authority on its technical merits and if there is more than a 50% likelihood that the position would be sustained if challenged and considered by the highest court in the relevant jurisdiction, the tax consequences of that position should be reflected in the taxpayer's gaap financial statements. Using that guidance, the organization has no uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the financial statements as of december 31, 2024.

WE PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO SERVE, OFFERING AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH ACROSS VARIOUS EXPERIENCES. THE TERM GUARDIANS INCLUDE A WIDE RANGE OF INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING ACTIVE MILITARY, VETERANS, RESERVES, NATIONAL GUARD, LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE AND RESCUE, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, DISPATCHERS, CORRECTIONS, AND FEDERAL AGENTS.
