Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Connected lane county was first established in 2014 as lane county's regional achievement collaborative by early childhood partners, local school districts, institutions of higher education, the local workforce board, and industry innovators. In 2020, we formally became an independent nonprofit serving over 2,000 youth each year.our core programs include elevate, which creates career-connected learning opportunities for youth; navigate, which offers a variety of case management services to youth facing significant barriers to success; and spark, which brings community, education, & industry together through innovation, education, and hands-on learning.

We equip lane county youth with the tools to help them gain confidence in their abilities and see value in their decisions. We break down barriers, build bridges, and create strategic partnerships to connect youth with education and employment pathways to transform their future potential.

IT WAS THE ORGANIZATION'S BELIEF THAT THE APPROPRIATE EXTENSION OR ANNUAL REPORT HAD BEEN FILED AND RECEIVED BY THE IRS. THEREFORE, THE ORGANIZATION BELIEVED THAT IT WAS FILING A TIMELY FILED ANNUAL REPORT. THE ORGANIZATION HAS ENGAGED KERNUTT STOKES, LLP TO PREPARE THE LANE COUNTY CONNECT FORM 990 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023 AND, WITH THE NEW OUTSOURCED BOOKKEEPING FIRM IN PLACE, ALL FUTURE ANNUAL REPORTS SHOULD BE TIMELY FILED OR EXTENDED. WE WOULD HOPE THAT THE IRS COULD UNDERSTAND THAT THIS SITUATION WAS AN ISOLATED INSTANCE AND ALLOW FOR A WAIVER OF PENALTIES AND/OR FEES ON THIS ISSUE. WE WOULD ALSO ASK THAT YOU CONSIDER THAT THIS ORGANIZATION IS ESSENTIALLY A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. THERE IS NO PAID OFFICER AND NO PAID BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THEREFORE, ANY PENALTIES ASSESSED AGAINST THE ORGANIZATION WILL TAKE FUNDS DIRECTLY AWAY FROM THE FUNDS USED TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION.
