“The form 990 is reviewed by the governing body before it is filed. The Financial Statement is submitted to an outside tax preparer who prepares form 990 and submits it to one of the officers who inturn reviews it with the board members. Once it is approved, one of the officers signs the return and mails it.”

“The organizatoin consistently monitors and enforces compliance with the conflict of interest policy. The organization has a separate person to open the mail, a separate person prepares invoices and a separate person reviews and approves invoices. Invoices/Purchase Orders are approved by the Executive Director, members of the Boad of Directors and the fiscal admin of Los Angeles Unified School District's Charter School Office. Majority of check payments/collections go directly to the Los Angeles Office of Education (LACOE). If there is any check received, the deposit slip is prepared by the executive director who keeps a copy of the deposit slip and the copy of the check receipt and gives it to the administration to deposit it the same day. All payroll is processed by Los Angeles County Office of Education who processes payroll and issues the checks. Hiring new employees and giving raise has to be approved by the Executive Director & the Board of Directors.”
