These events invite minority-culture members of the community to interact with business, governmental, law enforcement, educational and religious leaders in those towns through a dinner at which their specific minority-culture is recognized and spotlighted for their heritage and contribution to our area. | Education: Through leadership, advocacy, and educational programs, we aim to create a regional identity based on unity, diversity, and mutual respect.Educational Programs and Events Include:- K-12 grade curricula that teach how to create welcoming, inclusive communities.- Small group moderated discussions on topics of cultural competence, inclusion, and integration to create a community.- Interfaith dialogue and engagement.- Public presentations, trainings, keynote speakers, and workshops.- Multicultural celebrations.We accomplish this goal by hosting Parent Colleges which are bilingual (Spanish/English) events that providing parents personal enrichment courses that enhance effective interaction, strategies for how to promote social, emotional, health and wellness, and academic achievement, and connects parents to community resources.We held one Parent College in Jerome with a Spanish presentation.Personal Accountability within the Community: In an effort to enable participants to learn the difference between inward and outward focus (self vs community) we offer trainings that allow participants to see how they may be tending to be more inward and how they can beneficially adapt to a more outward focus in some areas of their lives. It also promotes and provides tools for participants to work more collaboratively with others and develop more personal accountability for their actions. The program also emphasizes addressing and resolving conflict.These trainings are called Outward Mindset Training.
