“Awarded funding from the open technology fund to continue our research into vpn security vulnerabilities related to our security disclosures in 2019- 2020. This involved the development new attacks based on our side-channel research and communicating these vulnerabilities to venders. We worked with openvpn, wireguard, nordvpn, mullvad, google's android security team, apple's security team, and others to find mitigations to these attacks which led to patches in several operating systems and vpn vendor software suites. Additionally, our research was published in usenix security 21: https://www.usenix.org/conference/usenixsecurity21/presentation/tolley”
