“Vision: it is the vision of postpartum pittsburgh that all birthing individuals and their supports in western pennsylvania will have access to current mental health treatment and resources mission: postpartum pittsburgh aspires to: 1) facilitate networking among western pa perinatal professionals committed to promoting the mental health of birthing people and their supports 2) provide both professional and community-based learning pportunities about evidence-based childbearing-related mental health treatment/strategies 3) increase understanding about mental health service needs in minoritized and underserved populations 4) optimize a website for diverse communities to gain easy access to vetted resources for support, treatment and education for childbearing-related mental health needs 5) promote awareness of childbearing-related mental health concerns”

“Most significant activities 1) creation of perinatal behavioral health network beginning in 2016 and growing broad partnerships among community, hospital, and university professionals engaged in the care of mothers with mental health problems in allegheny county. We have conducted interdisciplinary annual conferences, attended by an average of 130 individuals. 2) creation of a website devoted to perinatal mental health in allegheny county for affected mothers and for providers. Includes crisis, hotline, clinical services information, in-home services, mother's groups, child development resources, and educational links. 3) heinz foundation grant awardee in 1/2024 with funds committed to continuing to improve the above activities, while also increasing staff and board representation with under-represented minorities.”
