“A)voter protection and education b) organize tennessee (ot) is dedicated to safeguarding the fundamental right to vote for all eligible tennesseans. As a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, we tirelessly advocate for voting rights protections and work towards creating safe, secure, and accessible elections. Through coalition building, legal support, and grassroots organizing, ot empowers disenfranchised communities, striving to eliminate barriers that hinder full participation in our democracy. Vote protection training at organize tennessee, we recognize that a strong democracy hinges on the ability of every citizen to cast their ballot without obstruction. Our vote protection training program plays a pivotal role in ensuring that tennessee's elections remain free, fair, and transparent. By training and mobilizing volunteer poll observers statewide, we establish a robust network dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of our electoral process. In 2023, our efforts resulted in 2,700 individuals joining us in this critical mission. Of these, approximately 1,000 tennesseans completed essential training or took direct action to protect our democratic rights. Election protection ep hotline as the designated state partner for the lawyers' committee for civil rights under law, organize tennessee manages the national election protection hotline (1-866-our-vote) for voter incidents occurring within tennessee. We proactively promote the ep hotline statewide, particularly in the lead-up to early voting and election day, ensuring that voters have access to immediate assistance and support. Legal boiler room central to our voter protection efforts are the dedicated attorneys who volunteer their time and expertise. On each election day, organize tennessee coordinates a legal boiler room where these legal professionals provide crucial guidance on navigating voter issues from a legal perspective. This ensures swift responses to challenges and enables strategic planning for further action when necessary. Cle additionally, organize tennessee hosts complimentary continued legal education (cle) sessions for attorneys focused on tennessee election law twice a year. These sessions cover vital topics such as the structure of elections and tn legislative overview, felony disenfranchisement & voter restoration in tn, and the state and election law. Notable facilitators include a tn state senator, an ot board member, an election commissioner, and counsel from a valued partner organization. In 2023, these sessions were instrumental in equipping legal professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to protect voters' rights effectively.”
