“Biz Bash is administered exclusively by the volunteer efforts of the employees of CoBiz Financial Inc. and its subsidiary companies. Biz Bash does not have any employees and does not compensate its volunteers, officers or board of directors nor are any such persons compensated by any other organization on behalf of Biz Bash. Accordingly, Biz Bash does not have a process for designating, reviewing and approving compensation.”
“Each director of Biz Bash is also an officer or director of CoBiz Financial Inc., the founding and ongoing presenting sponsor of the organization. No director or officer of CoBiz Financial receives any compensation for the volunteer services provided to Biz Bash. Members of the board of directors and officers of CoBiz Financial Inc. are encouraged to be involved in their communities and may participate on the board of other charitable organizations. No Biz Bash director was also a board member of the 2016 beneficiary charitable organizations, although such a relationship alone would not preclude an organization from applying or being considered by Biz Bash in determining eligible beneficiaries. Applying organizations with common a director(s) are subject to the same scrutiny in the application process as otherwise unaffiliated organizations, mitigating potential conflicts of interest. Additionally, Biz Bash limits beneficiaries to a maximum of two consecutive years of grants. To date, Biz Bash has not made a funding grant to any beneficiary organization more than twice.”
“The governing documents were amended on 7/7/2016 to change the name of the organization to Biz Bash, Inc.”
“The annual information return on form 990 is prepared and presented to the treasurer of the board of directors prior to filing with the irs. A review is made of, among other things, total support, reliance on large donors, public support ratios and grants made to the designated local charities. a copy of the return is made available to all other officers and directors.”
“Biz Bash makes its required information (IRS determination letter, governing documents, financial information, etc.) available to the public and will furnish such information, upon request. organization information is also available on the websites of the secretary of state for Arizona and Colorado, states where biz bash either files information tax returns or other registration information.”
“Gross income from dividends. Biz Bash may on occasion receive donations of publicly traded stock. Such donations are typically in shares of CoBiz Financial stock (NASDAQ:COBZ) and are made by individuals from their personal holdings in lieu of cash donations. Contributions of stock are recognized as contribution revenue at market value on the date of legal transfer. Gross income from investments relates solely to dividends received on shares of COBZ stock held at the time a dividend was declared. Investments are generally held for less than 1 year and are not intended to a significant source of income either through dividend earnings or market value appreciation.”
“The first step in identifying a worthy beneficiary organization is a review of the application/questionnaire local charities are required to complete. The application requests a variety of information including audited or reviewed financial statements and documentation of the applicant organization's contributions to the community. Biz Bash's aim is to make significant contributions to local charities who can make an immediate and meaningful impact in the community so consideration is given to the size of the beneficiary organization, overall funding levels, years of service in the community and the ability to effectively deploy granted funds. Biz Bash acknowledges there are many worthy organizations in the Phoenix and Denver communities and has established a policy whereby designated beneficiary organizations are eligible for grants for up to two consecutive years. The purpose of the limitation is to avoid routine contributions to the same organization which could cause an unhealthy reliance on the granted support and encourage applicant organizations who were not selected in any one year to continue to apply in future years.”

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Biz Bash conducts fundraising events to benefit predetermined 501(c)(3) charities operating in Colorado and Arizona communities. General practice is to make annual grants to each beneficiary for a maximum of two years, after which a new qualifying beneficiary is selected by a committee of the board of directors. On April 28, 2016, a special concert event featuring the music of Huey Lewis and the News was hosted in Denver, Colorado to raise financial support for the benefit of two Colorado-based sec. 501(c)(3) organizations: Rocky Mountain Children Law Center (RMCLC, EIN 74-2406045) and the Hope House of Colorado (HHC, EIN 84-1567838). RMCLC develops cutting edge programs to uniquely equip the organization in its mission to champion the interests of abused, neglected and at-risk children. Programs include preserving and exercising the educational rights of children, assisting caregivers to ensure safe and stable home environments and a domestic violence program designed to advocate for kids in civil protection order hearings to prevent further trauma from abusive situations. The 2016 Colorado concert raised funds sufficient to allow Biz Bash in its second year of support to make an unrestricted grant of $155,000 to RMCLC. RMCLC is located at 1325 S. Colorado Blvd., Suite 701, Denver, CO 80222. HHC was established in 2000 by two former teen mothers with a mission to provide service and support beyond the first six months of the birth of a child. HHC empowers parenting teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God's sight, resulting in a healthy future for them, and for their children. The 2016 Colorado concert event raised funds sufficient to allow Biz Bash in its second year of support to make an unrestricted grant of $155,000 to HHC. HHC is located at 9088 Marshall CT., Westminster, CO 80031. On September 29, 2016, a special concert event featuring the musical talents of Aaron Neville was hosted in Phoenix, Arizona to raise financial support for the benefit of two Arizona-based Sec. 501(c)(3) organizations: A New Leaf (EIN 86-0256667) and Child Crisis Arizona (CCA, EIN 86-0324144). A New Leaf is a deserving charitable organization founded in 1971. A New Leaf's mission is to "Help Families...Change Lives". Their programs focuses on providing the critical skills to its clients to achieve lifelong independence by improving employment outlook, lifestyles, education and economic self-sufficiency. A New Leaf reaches over 22,000 individuals and families in the community annually with its resources. The 2016 Arizona concert raised funds sufficient to allow Biz Bash in its first year of support to make an unrestricted grant of $71,500 to the organization. A New Leaf is located at 868 E University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85203. CCA's mission is to provide Arizona's children a safe environment, free from abuse and neglect, by creating strong and successful families. CCA operates the only two emergency children's shelters and the area's largest foster care and adoption programs. These programs license , train and certify individuals and families in order to find homes for more than 18,000 children in the foster care system. The 2016 Arizona concert raised funds sufficient to allow Biz Bash in its second year of support to make an unrestricted grant of $71,500 to CCA. CCA is located at 2334 E. Polk St., Phoenix, AZ 85006. |

| IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | The first step in identifying a worthy beneficiary organization is a review of the application/questionnaire local charities are required to complete. The purpose of the limitation is to avoid routine contributions to the same organization which could cause an unhealthy reliance on the granted support and encourage applicant organizations who were not selected in any one year to continue to apply in future years. Biz Bash understands that each charity is unique with a wide variety of needs. Biz Bash makes its grants to worthy organizations on an unrestricted basis, allowing each grantee to determine for itself the most appropriate use of the support. Prior to a grantees designation as a beneficiary of a special event, the charity completes a questionnaire at the request of Biz Bash to describe in detail, among other things, the mission and history of the organization, its target community, identification of their staff/directors/trustees, financial information including recent Form 990 filings, and a description of the intended use of any monies granted by Biz Bash. The questionnaire is reviewed in detail by the event committee which then engages further discussion with the potential beneficiary organization prior to selection. These further discussions require face to face meetings between Biz Bash committee members and the organizations executive director(s) as well as a minimum of one site visit and tour of operations. The mission of Biz Bash is to support qualifying organizations in the Denver and Phoenix metropolitan areas and designated beneficiary organizations must demonstrate a verifiable history of service in the community and commit to utilizing any granted funds in local programs. |

Applying organizations with common a director(s) are subject to the same scrutiny in the application process as otherwise unaffiliated organizations, mitigating potential conflicts of interest. Additionally, Biz Bash limits beneficiaries to a maximum of two consecutive years of grants. To date, Biz Bash has not made a funding grant to any beneficiary organization more than twice. |
