IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Start-up Program: The Alliance is a 50% member of SCAPE Investment Fund Administrator, LLC (SCAPE LLC), a limited liability company created to provide financing for local start-up companies participating in a mentorship program developed by Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs (SCAPE), a nonprofit organization related to the LLC. SCAPE, the nonprofit entity, selects start-up companies to participate in the program and provides mentorship over a period of months. Successful participants repay the initial financing they received through the LLC by issuing shares of stock, or by paying cash, to those entities that advanced funds to the LLC. Ownership interest in each start-up company is prorated based on how funds were distributed by the LLC to the start-up. While the successful start-up companies either issued shares or paid cash, others were unsuccessful and the Alliances share of advances representing financing provided to those entities was recognized as program expense.
