FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Our mission is to promote curiosity, environmental awareness, and community health through stewardship and experiences with an urban greenspace that offers equitable access and connection to the diverse habitats, communities, places, and cities thriving along the sand creek regional greenway.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

In 2024, the sand creek regional greenway partnership (scrgp) continued to advance its mission of connecting communities to nature through education, stewardship, wellness, and equity-focused engagement. . Environmental education - spark.inspire.embrace. Scrgp's environmental education initiative provided free opportunities for 2,515 youth and 174 adults through collaborations with local schools and organizations. Programs were offered consistently throughout the year, with nearly half of all activities taking place directly on the greenway. These experiences created meaningful opportunities for outdoor learning and strengthened community connections to nature. . Volunteer program scrgp organized 29 volunteer events (18 public, 11 private) that engaged 467 volunteers who contributed an estimated 35,642 in service value. Volunteers removed 1,448 pounds of litter and 867 pounds of invasive weeds. A highlight of the year was the greenway's fourth mural installation, completed during the inaugural mural festival, where more than 150 volunteers helped paint the base layer of a 250-foot mural. . Outdoor wellness program (owp) designed to promote physical, social, and emotional well-being through nature-based activities, owp served 1,074 youth and 179 adults in 2024. The monthly playdate on the greenway program reached capacity each month, with 30 participants gathering for family-centered outdoor play and exploration. Owp also launched the first youth for community wellness cohort, in partnership with environmental learning for kids (elk). Ten youth participated in an 8-week program, selecting eight nature-wellness topics and ultimately leading peer-facilitated sessions on two of them. . Community science (comsci) the comsci program improved its water quality data collection through staff and steward participation in a multi-night river watch training. This training enhanced sampling techniques and protocols, resulting in greater reliability of collected data. . Community vision and equity program (cvep) through cvep, scrgp worked with residents and city partners to advance the many destinations capital project, an eight-year initiative to implement 12 community-selected enhancements along all 13 miles of the greenway. These enhancements reflect priorities identified directly by community members and will strengthen access, equity, and stewardship across the greenway.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE CURIOSITY, ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS, AND COMMUNITY HEALTH THROUGH STEWARDSHIP AND EXPERIENCES WITH AN URBAN GREENSPACE THAT OFFERS EQUITABLE ACCESS AND CONNECTION TO THE DIVERSE HABITATS, COMMUNITIES, PLACES, AND CITIES THRIVING ALONG THE SAND CREEK REGIONAL GREENWAY.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1IN 2024, THE SAND CREEK REGIONAL GREENWAY PARTNERSHIP (SCRGP) CONTINUED TO ADVANCE ITS MISSION OF CONNECTING COMMUNITIES TO NATURE THROUGH EDUCATION, STEWARDSHIP, WELLNESS, AND EQUITY-FOCUSED ENGAGEMENT.
