“Early childhood development-community enterprise works in partnership with spanish-speaking "family, friends and neighbors" (ffn) in-home childcare providers, who make up the majority of childcare providers in south adams county. There are approx. 37,000 preschool-aged children in adams county, but only 7,000 licensed childcare spots, meaning that the majority of children are being cared for by ffn providers, most of which do not have access to state licensing, but who are eager to develop their skills and careers and who care deeply about the children in their care and their health and educational outcomes.
