“Fairview band boosters organization mission is to provide financial and logistical support to the fairview high school bands which is not provided by the school district. The organization is comprised of parents, students, faculty and community members dedicated to assisting the band.”

“2024-2025 fairview bands program summary the mission of the fairview band boosters organization (fbbo) is to provide financial and logistical support to the fairview high school bands. The school district provides less than 1% of the funding required to run the bands, thus fbbo conducts extensive fundraising to support the bands expenses. Fbbo is composed of parents, students, faculty, and community members dedicated to assisting the bands. The fairview bands program consists of 2 jazz bands, 2 concert bands, and the fairview marching knights. All bands achieved success in their respective competitions during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Fairview jazz bands: fairview high school offers 2 levels of jazz band classes that include instruction in big band as well as jazz combos. These bands (both combos and big bands) participate annually in the mile high and greeley jazz festivals and our annual evening of jazz fundraising benefit. All levels of jazz bands at fairview high school received superior ratings in state and regional jazz festivals. Last year,the jazz bands had one student from the program selected for the all state jazz band. Concert band: fairview high school has 2 concert bands - symphonic and wind ensemble. Both bands participated in the cba regional competition in march 2025 and received high marks. The symphonic band received a superior rating scoring in the top 30% of bands. The wind ensemble qualified for the state competition where they received superior ratings from all judges and were awarded superior with distinction - the highest rating possible. Four members of the concert bands had the honor of being selected for the all state concert band and 2 band members were selected for the university of colorado honor band. In addition, both bands hosted 3 live concerts for the community and band members performed the music for the fairview high school musical, talent show, and graduation ceremony. Fairview marching knights (fmk): during the 2024-2025 school year, the fmk band competed in the colorado bandmasters associations 5a division. This is a highly competitive division in which the majority of 5a bands have many more members than fairview. The students worked hard throughout the fall and were able to bypass the quarterfinals of the colorado state marching band championship - advancing directly to the semifinals. With their amazing show, spectral evolution, the marchers achieved an impressive 6th place finish in the state finals. In november 2024, fmk had the honor of being featured in a cbs news segment during the football playoffs. Furthermore, fmk worked to increase participation in music education by organizing marching events for local middle schools. In december 2024, fmk hosted 60 students from 5 middle schools for a marching and music clinic - the middle schoolers then marched with the knights in boulder's "lights of december" parade providing the community with festive music and holiday cheer the fairview bands program continues to see small decreases in membership. That decrease, combined with increased costs for supplies, food, transportation, etc., means that the financial position of the band will remain constrained. Therefore, fbbo will boost its efforts to fundraise and engage the community and its alumni for support. Fbbo is here to make sure every student who wants to be a part of the fairview bands program has the opportunity and instruments to play on”
