The boulder jewish community center's mission is to provide programs and services based in jewish values and traditions in a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather to connect, exchange ideas, learn, and grow together.

The executive director and the finance committee review the form 990 and provide a copy to the board of directors before filing the return. The executive director signs the 990.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

Members of the board of directors shall disclose any conflict of interest prior to the board's decision on an issue to which a conflict relates. The interested director shall abstain from voting on the issue. When a director or staff member of the boulder jcc agrees to serve on the governing board of another organization, such director or staff member shall disclose the service to the boulder jcc. This policy shall be reviewed annually and amended as needed. Directors shall be required to submit a conflict of interest disclosure annually.

The executive director's salary is determined by the executive committee using comparable salary surveys. The compensation amount agreed upon by the executive committee is then reviewed by the board of directors. The last review of the executive director's compensation occurred in april 2021.

Jay and rose phillips early childhood center: the phillips ecc is designed to enhance the social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive, and physical development of each child while supporting the whole family. Through a variety of programs, the phillips ecc provides a welcoming entry point for families with children ages 0-5 years old to make friends, learn, and grow together. The phillips ecc includes the boulder jcc preschool, infant and toddler programs, parenting programs, and early childhood specialty classes. Through jparent, the jcc offers opportunities to bring parents together to learn and celebrate the jewish holidays. The nationally recognized school offers opportunities for exploration and discovery in a constructivist educational environment that is designed to nourish children's innate sense of wonder, curiosity, and self-esteem. Youth, camp, and teens: the youth, camp and teen department of the boulder jcc provides summer day camp, after - school activities, jewish holiday programs for middle and high school students and school day-out programming for childrena and teens ages 5-17. Together, these programs create a vibrant, enriching and fun experience that is designated to inspire campers and/ or participants to learn, grow and explore their interests while creating lasting memories and friendships. Adult programs: the boulder jcc serves adults through several programs, including women of the j. Women of the j and men of the j connect adults in greater boulder county jewish community and their friends with fun social events and meaningful experiences. Programs include educational, social, and recreational events. Additional adult programs include lectures lunch and learns and arts - related programs. Programs include educational, social, and recreational activities. Farm and sustainability: the milk and honey farm at the j integrates farming and sustainability into all department and program areas at the jcc. The farm itself is a 2+ acre jewish educational sustainable farm with a barn, greenhouse, donation gardens, and animals. The program brings the greater community together via experiential programs and activities designed to ignite wonder and discovery, grounded in vast jewish heritage, tradition, and values. These programs include jewish holiday celebrations, summer camps, early childhood education, and adult education. Community programs and resources: the boulder jcc offers several programs and services to the public to create community, awaken minds, and live our values. Examples of these programs and services include housing a jewish library called hasifria, and being a central location for event and rental space. The jcc is a unique community asset in boulder, providing meeting and rental space to businesses, nonprofits and for individual celebrations and events. Hasifria at the j is a community library, teacher resource center, and gathering place that provides programs and materials to promote jewish learing, identity and cultural connection for families, educators, students, clergy, community members and organizations. The library houses a reb zalman collecction as well as approximately 6,000 additional volumes. As a general resource for jewish life in boulder, the boulder jcc welcomes new families and individuals to boulder. It connects those who want to become more involved in jewish life and the community in general.

THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS, THE PHILLIPS ECC PROVIDES A WELCOMING ENTRY POINT FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AGES 0-5 YEARS OLD TO MAKE FRIENDS, LEARN, AND GROW TOGETHER. THE PHILLIPS ECC INCLUDES THE BOULDER JCC PRESCHOOL, INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAMS, PARENTING PROGRAMS, AND EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALTY CLASSES. THROUGH JPARENT, THE JCC OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO BRING PARENTS TOGETHER TO LEARN AND CELEBRATE THE JEWISH HOLIDAYS. THE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SCHOOL OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY IN A CONSTRUCTIVIST EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT THAT IS DESIGNED TO NOURISH CHILDREN'S INNATE SENSE OF WONDER, CURIOSITY, AND SELF-ESTEEM. YOUTH, CAMP, AND TEENS: THE YOUTH, CAMP AND TEEN DEPARTMENT OF THE BOULDER JCC PROVIDES SUMMER DAY CAMP, AFTER - SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, JEWISH HOLIDAY PROGRAMS FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND SCHOOL DAY-OUT PROGRAMMING FOR CHILDRENA AND TEENS AGES 5-17. TOGETHER, THESE PROGRAMS CREATE A VIBRANT, ENRICHING AND FUN EXPERIENCE THAT IS DESIGNATED TO INSPIRE CAMPERS AND/ OR PARTICIPANTS TO LEARN, GROW AND EXPLORE THEIR INTERESTS WHILE CREATING LASTING MEMORIES AND FRIENDSHIPS. ADULT PROGRAMS: THE BOULDER JCC SERVES ADULTS THROUGH SEVERAL PROGRAMS, INCLUDING WOMEN OF THE J. WOMEN OF THE J AND MEN OF THE J CONNECT ADULTS IN GREATER BOULDER COUNTY JEWISH COMMUNITY AND THEIR FRIENDS WITH FUN SOCIAL EVENTS AND MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES. PROGRAMS INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL, AND RECREATIONAL EVENTS. ADDITIONAL ADULT PROGRAMS INCLUDE LECTURES LUNCH AND LEARNS AND ARTS - RELATED PROGRAMS. PROGRAMS INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL, AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. FARM AND SUSTAINABILITY: THE MILK AND HONEY FARM AT THE J INTEGRATES FARMING AND SUSTAINABILITY INTO ALL DEPARTMENT AND PROGRAM AREAS AT THE JCC. THE FARM ITSELF IS A 2+ ACRE JEWISH EDUCATIONAL SUSTAINABLE FARM WITH A BARN, GREENHOUSE, DONATION GARDENS, AND ANIMALS. THE PROGRAM BRINGS THE GREATER COMMUNITY TOGETHER VIA EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO IGNITE WONDER AND DISCOVERY, GROUNDED IN VAST JEWISH HERITAGE, TRADITION, AND VALUES. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE JEWISH HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS, SUMMER CAMPS, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, AND ADULT EDUCATION. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES: THE BOULDER JCC OFFERS SEVERAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC TO CREATE COMMUNITY, AWAKEN MINDS, AND LIVE OUR VALUES. EXAMPLES OF THESE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE HOUSING A JEWISH LIBRARY CALLED HASIFRIA, AND BEING A CENTRAL LOCATION FOR EVENT AND RENTAL SPACE. THE JCC IS A UNIQUE COMMUNITY ASSET IN BOULDER, PROVIDING MEETING AND RENTAL SPACE TO BUSINESSES, NONPROFITS AND FOR INDIVIDUAL CELEBRATIONS AND EVENTS. HASIFRIA AT THE J IS A COMMUNITY LIBRARY, TEACHER RESOURCE CENTER, AND GATHERING PLACE THAT PROVIDES PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS TO PROMOTE JEWISH LEARING, IDENTITY AND CULTURAL CONNECTION FOR FAMILIES, EDUCATORS, STUDENTS, CLERGY, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND ORGANIZATIONS. THE LIBRARY HOUSES A REB ZALMAN COLLECCTION AS WELL AS APPROXIMATELY 6,000 ADDITIONAL VOLUMES. AS A GENERAL RESOURCE FOR JEWISH LIFE IN BOULDER, THE BOULDER JCC WELCOMES NEW FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS TO BOULDER. IT CONNECTS THOSE WHO WANT TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED IN JEWISH LIFE AND THE COMMUNITY IN GENERAL.
