IRS990/Desc0JDA International currently operates the Grand Valley Resettlement Program (GVRP), whose mission is to assist in the resettlement of Afghan parolees, refugees, and SIV beneficiaries in the Grand Valley region of Grand Junction, Colorado. The program aims to develop long-term relationships with these Afghan families and integrate them into society, with over 150 community members and various churches supporting this effort. As of December 2023, GVRP has successfully resettled 71 Afghan evacuees, comprising 14 families, in Grand Junction. The resettlement process involves providing each family with a dedicated support team to guide them through the transition. GVRP ensures that families have access to safe and furnished housing upon arrival, as well as assistance with applying for public benefits, transportation, and employment opportunities. To aid in their integration, GVRP enrolls adults in English language courses and facilitates school enrollment for children. Additionally, families receive essential resources such as cellphones, computers, and printers to help them navigate their new environment and stay connected. GVRP's comprehensive support services are designed to address the diverse needs of resettled Afghan families, ensuring a smooth transition andempower Afghan families to achieve self-sufficiency, economic stability, and successful integration into the Grand Junction community.

IRS990ScheduleF/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0For grant recipients overseas, JDAI sends funds intended for food and personal care, as these individuals often lack employment or struggle financially. These recipients are personally known to JDAI as former employees of the organization. However, due to the distance and local conditions, JDAI's ability to closely track how these funds are spent once they reach the beneficiary is limited. JDAI trusts in the integrity of the recipients and relies on the existing relationships with them to ensure the funds are used as intended.

IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Joint Development Associates International (JDAI) provides small cash grants, donations of furnishings and equipment, and payment of rent and utilities to families participating in the Grand Valley Resettlement Program that have re-located to the United States from Afghanistan. Rent and utilities payments are made directly to the landlord or vendor on behalf of the grant recipient. JDAI works closely with the families in the program to provide wholistic support and is therefore able to monitor the use of grant funds through its close interaction with the grant recipients.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The organization does not compensate any other officers or key employees. Therefore, Line 15b was answered no in accordance with the instructions.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1The Form 990 was prepared by an independent CPA firm and was reviewed by the organization's Accountant and President in detail. The return was then provided to the board for their review prior to being filed with the IRS.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Directors and officers are required to complete a conflict-of-interest statement annually. The board evaluates these statements and monitors for any potential conflicts of interest. Should any potential conflicts of interest be disclosed, the board member or officer would be asked to refrain from participation in any deliberation or decision with regard to matters affected by the relationship.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt3Independent members of the board of directors vote to approve compensation to provide to the President. The board Treasurer compiles comparability data for the board's review. The process and all decisions made are documented in the board minutes.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt4The governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are available upon request.
