Mission

The purpose of mercy southeast idaho, inc. Is to manage or direct entities which are organized for the purpose of creating stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing, and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors, and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.

To develop, own and operate low-income housing and provide services to low-income families, elderly, handicapped, homeless, potentially homeless and disadvantaged persons.

Responsibility for selection of an independent accountant and oversight of the annual audit is reserved by the mercy housing, inc. Board of trustees. Mercy housing, inc., is the sole member of mercy southeast idaho, inc.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

Mercy Housing, Inc. (MHI) and its consolidated nonprofit corporations are exempt from federal and state income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and comparable state statutes and did not have any unrelated business income for the year ended December 31, 2016. Due to their tax exempt status, MHI and the consolidated nonprofit corporations are not subject to income taxes. MHI and the consolidated nonprofit corporations are required to file tax returns with the IRS and other taxing authorities. Accordingly, the financial statements do not reflect a provision for income taxes and there are no other tax positions which must be considered for disclosure. Income tax returns filed by the corporation are subject to examination by the internal revenue service for a period of three years. While no income tax returns are currently being examined by the internal revenue service, tax years since 2013 remain open.

(MHI) and its consolidated nonprofit corporations are exempt from federal and state income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and comparable state statutes and did not have any unrelated business income for the year ended December 31, 2016. Due to their tax exempt status, MHI and the consolidated nonprofit corporations are not subject to income taxes. MHI and the consolidated nonprofit corporations are required to file tax returns with the IRS and other taxing authorities. Accordingly, the financial statements do not reflect a provision for income taxes and there are no other tax positions which must be considered for disclosure. Income tax returns filed by the corporation are subject to examination by the internal revenue service for a period of three years. While no income tax returns are currently being examined by the internal revenue service, tax years since 2013 remain open.
