“The Executive Committee is made up of the following Board Members: The Board Chair, The International Director, the Deputy Board Chair, the Board Secretary, and the Board Committee Chairs. The Executive Committee shall have the following powers and responsibilities: (1) to act as an executive arm of the Board of Trustees and carry on the business of the Board between its meetings. (2) to draw up and review the job description for and evaluate the performance of the International Director/CEO. (3) to meet and conduct any business that may be conducted by the Board, in case of urgency or emergency.”

“Form 990 was prepared by an independent CPA firm and reviewed in detail by the organization's CFO. The Board also reviews a copy of the return prior to filing with the IRS.”

“Every employee and Board Member is required to fill out and sign a conflict of interest disclosure letter annually, describing any potential conflicts. These forms are reviewed by the CFO; the CFO's form is reviewed by the International Director/CEO. In some cases the International Director/CEO will be made aware of any potential conflicts. At periodic times throughout the year, examples of possible conflicts are reviewed with employees and employees are required to update their form if they feel anything has changed with regards to possible conflicts. If a conflict arises, it is disclosed to affected voting group and the individual would abstain from voting and discussions.”

“For the compensation of other officers, different third-party information is used to ensure that compensation is in line with other religious organizations or para-church ministries. Some of these providers are local churches or ministries that work in a similar field. Information from the ECFA has also been utilized, which shows compensation levels for numerous positions for different regions of the country. Compensation levels are then approved by a compensation committee made up of at least 2 members of the international board. The compensation committee is empowered by the full board to determine officer compensation. Once approved, decisions are documented and signed by the committee members. This process occurs on an annual basis.”

“We communicate the availability of these documents periodically throughout the year in mailings and communications to our donors; for example, in our annual report. We also have posted our tax return and financial statements with ECFA, and they are available electronically to anyone who would like to review them. If we receive any written or email request for documents, we will mail them to the person requesting the information.”
