The finance committee meets annually with the outside auditor to review the results of the audit. An executive session meeting without staff present is held at that time. There has been no change in the process of oversight of the audit from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

Part V, Line 4:

The terms of the endowment restrict the use of the proceeds for construction costs of affordable housing in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado.

Liability for tax positions- Management is required to evaluate tax positions taken by the CACHC and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements and determined there are none. CACHC is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions: however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. CACHC's Returns of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Forms 990) for the previous three years are subject to examination by the IRS.
