“Persons interested in the educational purposes of the association in the fields of livestock and agriculture who desire to become members of the association shall submit to the association letters of support for such membership from two members of the association, one of whom is a trustee of the association. The board of directors shall review all membership applications and accept (or reject) them at its next annual meeting. Upon acceptance of the application by the board of directors, and payment of the current membership fee, the applicant shall become a member of the association. The secretary/treasurer of the association prepares and issues membership certificates in such form as approved from time to time by the board of directors. Except for surviving spouses whose membership carry no voting rights, each member shall be entitled to cast one vote on each issue or nominee upon which a vote is taken at any meeting of the members of the association. A member entitled to vote may vote in person or may vote by proxy, in writing, executed by the member of his or her duly authorized attorney in fact.”

“The executive committee will be comprised of the chair of the trustees, the vice chair, the secretary/treasurer and up to two additional directors elected by the board of directors. The president will serve ex officio. The chair of the trustees shall be the chair of the executive committee. Any vacancy in the executive committee may be filled by a resolution adopted by a majority of the board of directors.”

“A copy of the complete form 990 is provided to the board of directors prior to filing the tax return.”

“An annual questionnaire is required to be completed by the board of directors at the annual board meeting to monitor and enforce compliance with the conflict of interest policy.”

“The association maintains a public disclosure notebook at its administrative offices which is available upon request during normal business hours.”

“The association is an educational organization whose primary purposes include (1) improving agricultural and livestock production in the western states through education of farmers, ranchers and livestock producers, (2) promoting the educational development of youth interest in working in agriculture and livestock production, and (3) educating the general public as to the agriculture and livestock production industries. An auxiliary purpose of the association is to preserve and promote american western culture, values and the western heritage of this part of the country.”
