“The junior league of denver is a membership based organization. Classes of members include provisional, active, and sustaining. Membership dues are based on the level of membership.”

“Election of officers of the board of directors is by majority vote of the membership at the designated election meeting.”

“Decisions relating to amendments of the bylaws and policies of the league must be ratified by two-thirds vote of the active members present and voting at the meeting or by validly executed absentee ballot, provided that the amendment has been previously approved by the board of directors.”

“The form 990 is completed by the league's independent accounting firm and is made available to the board of directors for review prior to filing. Upon approval of the form 990 by the board of directors, it is signed by the treasurer on behalf of the league.”

“At the onset of the new board of directors, each elected officer is required to complete and sign the "potential conflict of interest disclosure declaration". The forms are reviewed by the president, vice president of finance and operations, treasurer, and the director of finance and operations for possible conflict of interest implications. The signed forms are retained as part of the league's files. Due diligence is exercised when signing contracts or checks for goods or services for possible conflict of interest issues. In addition, board members are asked to disclose any conflicts or perceived conflicts at the beginning of each board meeting.”

“The board of directors, in fulfilling its responsibilities for overseeing the league's compensation policies, plans, and benefits programs, relies on the standing committee. The committee is comprised of the president, president-elect, vice president of finance and operations, and the treasurer, all of which are volunteer members of the board of directors. The committee reviews and validates the compensation philosophy and strategy, determines annual compensation level percentage changes using such criteria as a)functionally comparable positions; b) availability of similar services in the geographical area; c) current independent compensation surveys and d) cost of living data.”

“The league's governing documents (bylaws and policies) are available for access and viewing on the member page of its website (www.jld.org) and, as stated on the website's public page, these documents will be made available for inspection to non-members upon request. Reviewed financial statements the form 990, and the annual report are available on the public page of the website.”

“Carson maczuzak and megan severs serve as the president and treasurer, respectively, as of the filling date and both hold signing authority.”

“Programs and community outreach: for the past several years, the jld has been working to improve literacy rates in the denver metro area for children through the third grade. The jld participates in several key community programs in this area by providing financial resources as well as volunteer participation. Notable among these programs are the league's signature programs, kids connect and read2kids. These programs focus on providing book rich environments for all children, while reinforcing the message that getting children ready to read is of the utmost importance. The jld also provides similar resources for other initiatives through our partnership programs with community organizations such as the gathering place. Another of jld's initiatives is l.u.v.s., leaders united in volunteer service. On this annual day of service, members volunteer for a number of local nonprofits to complete projects united by a common focus. Also, our members endorsed the expansion of our impact area to include women and families experiencing systemic poverty. Through our community programs, we plan to expand our touchpoints within the denver community to support this initiative. The league's unpaid volunteers donate a significant number of hours to assist the organization in achieving the goals of its various service programs. In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, our members donated more than 57,202 hours.”
