“In 2025, the Foundation allocated $64,596 to support district-wide programs and capital projects that expand access to library resources and strengthen community engagement. Funding included $2,499.46 for healthy after-school snacks for teens at the Orchard Park, Pinnacle, and Cherry Lane branches; $17,094.57 for new books across the District, completing a two-year $50,000 commitment; and $11,151.09 for the design, exterior wrap, and interior shelving for Home Delivery vehicles to improve visibility, safety, and accessibility. The Foundation designated $24,778.65 for the Summer Reading Program to fund books distributed to participants, prizes, and Summer Reading t-shirts for all library staff and volunteers. With this support, the District served 7,031 participants, an increase from 5,163 the prior year. Participants logged 108,442 reading sessions across a range of reading abilities. An additional $8,471.87 supported community engagement initiatives, including the City of Stories book and Centennial Figaro Kits. A donor-designated $100 purchase supported creative programming at Unbound, and $500 was allocated for staff appreciation during National Library Week to ensure all staff received Summer Reading t-shirts, including non-public-facing staff. These investments align with the Foundations mission to enhance library services, expand access to educational materials, and strengthen community connections across the Meridian Library District.”
