“To ensure the organization operates in a manner consistent with charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax- exempt status, periodic reviews shall be conducted. They shall include a review of reasonable compensation arrangements, and a review to ensure partnership, joint ventures, and arrangements with management organizations conform to the organization's written policies. Each director, principal officer and committee member with governing board delegated powers shall annually sign a statement that such person has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy, has read and understands it, has agreed to comply with it, and understands what is necessary to maintain the organization's federal tax exempt status.”

“The international pediatric stroke organization (ipso) is bringing together leading investigators and health professionals from around the globe, and from multiple disciplines, with a common interest in childhood cerebrovascular disease. Experts across related fields will collaborate to advance knowledge on mechanisms of childhood stroke and stroke recovery with an eye towards preventing stroke and improving outcomes. Ipso will disseminate knowledge and best practices to first-line medical providers for the wider benefit of children with stroke worldwide. Throughout, ipso will engage affected families to set priorities and advocate for children at risk for stroke or afflicted by stroke.”

“In 2024, ipso continued to advance its mission of fostering global collaboration, education, and research in pediatric stroke through a range of impactful activities. A major highlight was the international pediatric stroke conference held in toronto, canada, which drew over 300 participants from more than 40 countries, including clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates. The 2.5-day in-person meeting featured plenary sessions, abstract presentations, and multidisciplinary workshops, facilitating the exchange of new knowledge and strengthening the international pediatric stroke community. Throughout 2024, ipso expanded its ongoing virtual programming, including its quarterly challenging case conference series and global education webinars, which continued to engage members across diverse regions and time zones. These programs provided dedicated forums for discussing complex cases, sharing clinical and research innovations, and promoting mentorship across generations of pediatric stroke specialists. Ipso also formalized several new working groups and advisory councils, aligning with its strategic goals to promote specialized collaboration in areas such as genetics, epidemiology, neuroimaging, and neurorecovery. These groups support ipsos broader vision of building sustainable infrastructure for pediatric stroke research and education worldwide. Ipso strengthened its membership platform and outreach initiatives, achieving steady growth in both individual and institutional memberships, enhanced communication tools, and improved accessibility for members in low- and middle-income countries.”
