The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation (SEEC), formed in 2019, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to economic development in Schoharie County by promoting, fostering and encouraging the development of business enterprises to combat declines in the regions workforce, overall population, and median household income. SEEC is supported by donations from various business leaders.

The 990 is reviewed by the executive director, audit chair, and treasurer and provided to the board for review and comment before filing

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

By signing annual statements, SEEC performs a Conflict of Interest policy assessment by which each director may identify potential conflicts of interest, affirm receipt, understanding and agreement with the policy; and acknowledge the duty to disclose possible conflicts. The Board, and or its outside advisors, will also conduct periodic reviews of consistency with charitable purposes in which findings will be recoded in meeting minutes.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

SEEC has adopted the recognition requirements for uncertain income tax positions as required by generally accepted accounting principles, with no cumulative adjustment required. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. SEEC believes that its income tax positions would be sustained under examination by taxing authorities. There are currently no examinations in progress.

SEEC believes that its income tax positions would be sustained under examination by taxing authorities. There are currently no examinations in progress.
