“Akahiao nature institute is a multi-service organization whose vision is to create a model for our future - a place where people and nature live as one and take care of each other in a mutually beneficial way of love and respect. Akahiao runs nature immersion programs for youth and a nature- based preschool that centers around outdoor learning. The fundamental goal of anis programs is to give the next generation the time and understanding with our planet to develop a meaningful relationship. The learning at ani is guided by the cultivation of two natures: the nature of our keiki with their individual strengths; and by the natural world where quality learning happens. We strive to develop a relationship of reciprocity and thankfulness between the two natures and amongst the keiki themselves. Through exploration of the natural world, we believe our keiki will discover their innate sense of wonder and curiosity, enhance their physical aptitude and develop a strong sense of self in relation to the world around us. The youth programs include values workshops that help our youth discover their strengths, their values and their contributions to the world.”
