“Hmsbb provided funding for the bands instrument drive: 4 sessions, led by band directors and professional musicians, expose 100+ incoming 6th grade students to different types of band instruments, finding the one that is best suited for them to excel in their middle school band education experience.”

“Hudson middle school band boosters primary exempt purpose is to enrich the hudson middle school band students music education by providing multiple enhanced learning and competitive performance programs that are not provided for by the school districts limited fine arts department budget. Part iii, line 28: hmsbb provided funding for 326 band students performing in 10 concerts and 12 regional and district-wide contests. Awards received: 281 1st division medals at solo and ensemble contest, with 5 students winning outstanding soloist and 1 ensemble winning outstanding ensemble; all 3 advanced bands earned sweepstakes at uil concert and sight reading evaluation (the only middle school band in the region to achieve this honor). Part iii, line 29: hmsbb provided funding for 100 master classes, 22 individual weekly instrument lessons, and a 2-week summer band program. Awards: hudson middle school band percussion was one of only 2 middle school percussion ensembles in the country invited to perform at the music for all national festival in indianapolis; the wind symphony placed 2nd at area in the ccc tmea honor band contest and moved on to the state semi-final round (only 21 bands in the state made it this far); based on submitted recordings of the 24-25 wind symphony, the 25-26 wind symphony has been invited to perform at the music for all national festival in march of 2026. Heather becker, head director of bands, was named teacher of the year at hudson middle school for 24-25. Part iii, line 30: hmsbb provided funding for: sheet music purchased for band performances; 180 uniforms purchased for student musicians to be worn at their many band performances.”
