“The board of directors sets the two co-executive directors' salaries by vote once per year during an executive session. The co-executive directors then set the salaries of the remaining members of asap's management. In setting salaries in general, the co-executive directors take into consideration the staff member's performance and experience, salaries for comparable external positions, and internal pay equity. In calendar year 2020, because dorothy tegeler and elizabeth willis were cofounders of the organization, the executive directors chose to set those salaries equivalent to their own. Small differences in pay reflect differential use of benefits and paid time off.”

“The organization makes its governing documents and conflict of interest policy available to the public upon request.”

“While the prior 990 correctly reported the amounts given by each donor, asap staff noticed an inaccuracy in reporting a $250,000 donation as fulfilling a prior pledge rather than representing a new pledge for $250,000. In an abundance of caution, asap chose to amend its 990 to reflect this change for maximum transparency. As a result, this amended 990 reflects an increase of $250,000 in the total contribution revenue and total net assets, as well as a slight change in the balance of restricted and unrestricted net assets. These changes are reflected in the following places in the form 990: part i, summary page; part viii, line 1f; part x, lines 3, 27, and 28; as well as in schedule a, part ii in line 1; and schedule d, part xi, line 4b. These changes will also be reflected in asap's audited financial statements.”

“The prior year revenues include a transfer of $3,286,855 in asap's existing assets from asap's previous fiscal sponsor, the urban justice center (ujc). These assets include revenues raised between 2015 and 2019, while asap was fiscally sponsored by ujc.”
