Provide access to safe and affordable flight and flight training to club members and to promote and support experimentation in all forms of aviation including drones, electric aircraft, ulta-lights and alternative airborne vehicles

Safe and affordable flight: Our Piper Challenger generated 219 Hobbs hour flight for club members at a per hour cost of $115, wet with fuel. Compare this cost to $170 - $190 per hour, wet with an alternative plane. Our Taylorcraft produced another 36.8 Hobbs hour at a cost of $95 per hour, wet with fuel. Compare this rate with $120 to $150 wet.--
Safety in aviation is a priority with our club. Our safety officer received his training with the Marine Corps. He is very convincing.--
Promote and support experimentation in aviation all forms of aviation: We have had little attention to devote to this Program Service due primarily to the pandemic. We would like to consider a plane whose source of energy for flight is electric. Forty plus percent of our cost of flight is for fuel. Instead of paying $50 for an hour's flight we could pay $3 for an hour flight using battery power. We would use existing general aviation equipment and re purpose it. We would take the fuel takes out of the wings of a Cessna 172 and replace the tanks with batteries. We would replace the engine with an electric motor that would generate as much if not more power than the existing engine and be a lot lighter. We would have no use for the magneto or spark plugs and we would reduce the number of moving parts from several hundred to two.--
Give back or pay it forward. We are currently working with S.O.A.R. (Save Our Aviation Resources) a local Non Profit Foundation that raises money to provide financial aid to young pilot's from the community and a local High School that has professional grade flight simulators for its students use. Certificated pilots assist the students with ground school and flight simulation experience. The mission of the flying club "To provide safe and affordable flight and flight training for its members" closes the circle of community to provide our nation more pilots.--
