If the submitter states there is a potential conflict of interest, the submitter is removed from the decision-making process and the legal and finance departments review the suggested vendor and services with the coi and recommend to the president regarding vendor selection for such services. Per the coi policy, the president has the final say in such matters (unless the coi involves the president, in which case it would be taken to the chairman of the board). In addition to this self-reporting process, we also have an anonymous hotline that staff can call to report any illegal or improper conduct, including conflict of interest issues.
