“1. Expanded Impact Across 4 Virginia Cities Served 500+ youth across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, and Hampton. Delivered programs to middle school, high school, and college-age youth, focusing on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. Built partnerships with schools, libraries, housing authorities, and workforce programs to reach students often left behind by traditional systems. 2. Created Career Pathways Through Internships Launched the Young Investors Leadership Academy (YILA), providing 20+ paid internships to teens and young adults (ISAEP, GED, and college students). Interns gained hands-on skills in media, podcasting, event production, social media, and CRM marketing. Interns helped run real events and services, earning stipends while building their resumes and portfolios. 3. Produced High-Impact Signature Events InvestaCon 2024 drew over 200 attendees, up from 75 in 2022, with workshops, pitch contests, red carpet media, and youth showcases. Youth-led and youth-focused experiences included: Finish In Green Gaming Podcast (gaming + business interviews) Family Business Pitch Contest 4. Strengthened Community Partnerships Worked closely with LISC, Hampton Roads Workforce Council, Sentara, local school districts, libraries, and youth-serving nonprofits. Piloted youth-led services such as event media coverage, podcast production, and red-carpet interviews to support local events and small businesses. Introduced a Giving Tuesday Youth Campaign that empowered youth to fundraise and match donations. 5. Built Revenue-Generating Youth Services Activated paid services led by interns and teens: Red Carpet Event Coverage Social Media Management for Nonprofits & Small Businesses Pop-Up Shops + E-Commerce Bootcamps Used a learn while earning model to connect skills to income. 7. Prioritized Equity, Access, and Real-World Results Focused on serving Main Street Youth teens and young adults at risk of disconnection, underemployment, or school dropout. Integrated social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, financial literacy, and community leadership into every program. Measured outcomes through self-reflection tools like Thorns, Roses & Seeds to capture growth in confidence, self-worth, and goal setting.”
