Several employees of akiing 8th fire also perform duties for honor the earth, a related organization. During the fiscal year ended june 30, 2020, employees of both organizations were paid by honor the earth (related organization) and received a w-2 from honor the earth for the period june 1, 2019, through december 31, 2019, and were paid by akiing 8th fire and received a w-2 from akiing 8th fire for the period 1/1/20-6/30/20. For financial statements and 990 reporting, analysis was performed, and salary and related expenses were adjusted on each entity to reflect the expenses incurred by each organization appropriately. Therefore, akiing 8th fire shows compensation and related expenses in part ix for the year ended june 30, 2020, but shows zero employees in part v for the calendar year 2019.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from payment of federal income taxes under the provision of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The organization is required to record a liability for uncertain tax positions when it is probable that a loss has been incurred and the amount can be reasonably estimated. As of june 30, 2020, no such liability existed. Management will continually evaluate expiring statutes of limitations, audits, proposed settlements, changes in tax law, and new authoritative rulings.
