“The grumble project specializes in the development of new artistic works, community building, and the stimulation of economic development through the integration of local arts and culture into all facets of life. We collaborate with communities to lift up hometown opportunities, and champion creatives as vital contributors and leaders in vibrant rural spaces. In our work, we explore important issues in society that may not be easy to discuss. We use the performing arts as a conduit for having conversations about these issues, and we strive to include the voices that are often unheard, including young people, senior citizens, rural populations, and those experiencing poverty, grief, or isolation. Current projects include the dream switch project, which includes community and school engagement activities, and a live performance followed by community conversations around the themes of returning to one's home, belonging, and what it takes to be a welcoming community. Our wuzzlewubbies blanket drive provides new or homemade blankets to students and families in five lincoln public schools title 1 elementary schools (arnold, campbell, clinton, elliott, and west lincoln) - schools in which we have longstanding relationships through arts integrated learning programs. In 2018-19, we served about 800 students and their families in these schools. Our snowcatcher grief support project will serve about 100 college aged students across nebraska.”
