“Every year, GIAC HANH Buddhist Center organized four events for the homeless in Stockton, California. Beside donating the expenses, the monks along with its disciples volunteered to serve at the Homeless Shelter of Stockton to help prepare meals for about 250-300 homeless for each event. GIAC HANH Buddhist Center organized a 3 day event during the Vietnamese New Year to share the Vietnamese tradition and culture with the community of Stockton. The event attracted about 300 people. We had activities for the Vietnamese elders and youth and we also welcome many people of various races who want to learn and understand to the Vietnamese culture and traditions. GIAC HANH Buddhist Center exists to manage the Art of Happiness, accepting impermanence and limitations of being human. We serve the local community and those who are interested in the Buddhism Virtues, Vietnamese culture and language. We are committed in practicing Buddhas teaching of loving-kindness, compassion, joyfulness and equanimity to the community so that they might be integrated into our lives and of those around us.”
