Annual Programming Summary - Camp Read-a-Rama 2024 Spring Camps Wilderness Wonders, February 17, 9:30-4:00 In partnership with REI Flagship, 222 Yale Ave N A bookish celebration of all things outdoors, including a field trip to a local park and a campfire on the deck. Marvelous Mysteries, Saturday, March 16, 9:30-4:00 In partnership with Dearborn Park International School, 2820 S. Orcas Mysteries all day long, including a scavenger hunt for the afternoon snack and a visit from a local detective with Seattle Police Department. Art All Around, Saturday, April 27, 9:30-4:00 In partnership with Seattle Art Museum, 1300 1st Ave Exploring art throughout the museum and making our own. Pollinator Pals, Saturday, May 18, 9:30-4 In partnership with the Seattle Asian Art Museum, 1400 E. Prospect We learned about pollinators and saw some close-up when a local beekeeper visited with enclosed hives--queen included. We made seed balls for growing more plants at home that attract pollinators. Seattle Summer Camps Kaleidoscope of Colors, July 29-August 1, 9-4:30 In partnership with Compass Housing Alliance, Broadview, 147 N 132nd St. During this color-filled week of camp, we learned all about the science of colors, made crafts in many hues, field tripped to a museum, and explored lots of books to inspire creativity. Taste of Summer, August 5-8, 9-4:30 In partnership with Union Church, 415 Westlake Ave N for children at Compass Dexter During this food-themed week, campers expanded their sense of taste, learned about sustainability, and acquired useful cooking skills while reading books foodies love. Spokane County Library Summer Camps (all 4-day camps, 9-2 pm) Adventure Begins, June 24-27 North Spokane Library Adventure Begins, July 8-11 North Spokane Library Adventure Begins, July 15-18 and Adventure Begins, July 22-25 Spokane Valley Library Description: Have an adventure at the library! We read and explore children's books during camp and then use the books' themes for our camp activities, crafts, music and more. Sno-Isle Library Camps, Snohomish County, WA Read-a-Rama with Sno-Isle Libraries, June 25 & 27 9:00-10:30 a.m. Read-a-Rama with Sno-Isle Libraries, July 2, 9 & 11, 9:00-10:30 a.m. In partnership with Lakewood School District Summer Academy at Lakewood Elementary 17000 16th Dr NE, Smokey Point, WA 98271 Description: Join Read-a-Rama! Kids will spend two days each week with Sno-Isle librarians doing super fun, hands-on activities based on books! The morning will start with reading together, followed by art, science, building, and more - all based on the characters, setting, and themes of a book.
