“The organization maintains two long-term investment pools. The first is a board-designated reserve established from accumulated operating surpluses over the life of the organization. These funds are held for future special projects consistent with the organization's mission, although no specific project has been identified. The board periodically reviews this reserve to determine potential future uses. The second investment pool consists of funds collected through a longstanding ticket surcharge restricted by donors for land acquisition. These donor-restricted assets are invested alongside board-designated funds but are tracked separately in the organization's accounting records. No expenditures of restricted funds occurred during the year. Net assets restricted for land acquisition represent amounts collected through a donor-restricted surcharge applied to event ticket sales over a period of 8 years from 2010 to 2017. Under the terms of the restriction, these funds may only be used for the purchase of land or closely related qualifying purposes. To date, no qualifying property has been identified. The organization continues to hold these funds for their restricted purpose and maintains them as separately tracked balances within its investment portfolio.”
